District 9 bonus features focus heavily on facts about the movie’s filmmaking, such as its use of a South African slum for the movie’s setting. The three-part documentary The Alien Agenda: A Filmmaker’s Log comes with all Blu-ray and DVD versions.
Blu-ray exclusives include the interactive map ‘Joburg From Above: Satellite and Schematics of the World of District 9,’ marking a new type of bonus feature from Sony. Also only on the Blu-ray version is digital copy, Sony’s MovieIQ database and instant messaging feature Cinechat.
